Within the framework of the Georgia Maritime Forum, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili met with Abdulaziz Zayed Al Shamsi, Regional Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, one of the largest maritime and logistics groups in the United Arab Emirates.

The parties discussed the progress of a large-scale investment project being developed in Georgia by Abu Dhabi Ports Group. It was noted that the Tbilisi Dry Port, with Abu Dhabi Ports Group as one of its main investors, connects the South Caucasus with the Central Asian region and will make a significant contribution to the further development of the Middle Corridor. Particular emphasis was placed on the upcoming development phases of the dry port project.

The sides also discussed ongoing construction works at the Anaklia Deep Sea Port and noted that the port is being developed under the “landlord” model.

Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Genadi Arveladze, General Director of Georgian Railway Lasha Abashidze and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to Georgia, Ahmed Ibrahim Ahmed Taher Al Nuaimi also participated in the meeting.
