Within the framework of the Georgia International Maritime Forum (GIMF 2026), Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Tamar Ioseliani met with Zhanibek Taizhanov, Vice Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The parties discussed bilateral economic relations between the two countries, with particular emphasis placed on deepening cooperation in the transport and logistics sectors.
The Georgia-Kazakhstan partnership in global and regional transport initiatives (TITR, TRACECA, CAREC) was highlighted. Special focus was placed on the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor) and facilitating the attraction of additional cargo flows from Kazakhstan. The sides also discussed the development of container shipping from China toward Europe. Cooperation between the two countries in civil aviation and road freight transport was positively evaluated.
From the Georgian side, the meeting was also attended by Lasha Abashidze, General Director of Georgian Railway, and Merab Kajaia, Deputy Head of the Transport and Logistics Development Policy Department of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.
