As part of the Georgia International Maritime Forum, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Tamar Ioseliani met with representatives of the international shipping company Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement.

During the meeting, the parties discussed priority areas for future cooperation. It was noted that Georgia attaches great importance to enhancing maritime safety, including the continuous competency development of seafarers.

Emphasis was placed on the reforms implemented in the maritime sector, including maritime education, which has had a positive impact on the employment rates of Georgian seafarers.

The parties discussed potential cooperation in areas such as cadet development programs, simulator-based training, digital navigation, safety, emergency response and other matters.

Attention was also drawn to the potential expansion of the company’s presence in Georgia.

The meeting was attended by Ivane Abashidze, Director of the Maritime Transport Agency of Georgia.
