Georgia’s economy shows stable growth dynamics. The positive trends and high economic growth recorded in the country’s economy clearly indicate that, despite external shocks, geopolitical tensions and challenges, Georgia’s economy maintains resilience.
In August 2026, the country’s economic growth reached 6,3%, while the growth rate for January-August equaled 7,6%.
The increase in economic activity is also clearly reflected in the business sector data. Specifically, in August, the turnover of VAT-registered enterprises increased by 12,1% compared to the same period of last year. Furthermore, the number of newly registered enterprises amounted to 6261 units, which exceeds the figure for August of last year by 35,1%.
In August 2026, a positive contribution to economic growth was made by increased economic activity in such sectors as manufacturing, information and communication, financial and insurance activities, human health, real estate activities, arts, entertainment and recreation, trade, transportation and storage, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply.
Overall, a factor supporting economic growth in 2026 is represented by the positive trends recorded in foreign trade. Specifically, in January-August, exports increased by 22,1% and amounted to USD 5,4 billion. The growth of domestic exports (exports excluding re-exports) equaled 63,5% and reached USD 3,3 billion.
