Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili, together with Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, participated in the inauguration ceremony of the Eagle Hills Georgia office and presentation space. Mohamed Ali Alabbar, the founder of the Eagle Hills, hosted the event.

The Eagle Hills Georgia office has begun operating in the former Rustaveli Cinema building in Tbilisi. As Mariam Kvrivishvili noted in her speech, an historic visit in Georgia by the President of the United Arab Emirates and the government team took place a month ago, and during that visit, all the key issues and details related to the entry of the Emaar Group into Georgia were agreed upon.

“Today we are hosting our friend and partner, Mr. Mohamed Alabbar, whose personal involvement and leadership made it possible to achieve tangible results from the decision-making process at a rapid pace. Today, in the center of our capital, on the first floor of a historic building, we are opening the presentation space for Emaar Group’s project, Eagle Hills Georgia, which will become a flagship for the Georgian development and tourism industry” – the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development stated.

The Emaar Group will invest 6,5 billion USD in two projects in Georgia which will be implemented in the Krtsanisi district of Tbilisi and near Batumi, in the area of Gonio. As part of the Eagle Hills Georgia project, modern, diverse infrastructure will be developed in Tbilisi and the vicinity of Batumi. Within the framework of the same project, a yacht marina will also be built in Batumi, which will move the seaside city into a completely new, yet natural, stage. Mariam Kvrivishvili noted that the volume of the investment is unprecedented and it will have a tremendous impact on Georgia’s economy as a whole.

“The project will be a great enabler of employment, creating thousands of jobs. Two new destination areas are being created near Tbilisi and Batumi, in Gonio, which will establish a very important ecosystem combining residential and commercial spaces, accommodation facilities, shopping streets, and many significant new additions to our country’s tourism product,” – the Minister of Economy noted.

Mariam Kvrivishvili thanked Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, under whose direct guidance and support the project developed at a fast pace, and also thanked Mohamed Ali Alabbar for accurately assessing Georgia’s potential and for the partnership. The Minister stated that this will be an exceptional project that will further strengthen our country’s positioning.

“Georgia has come a rather difficult way, there were complex challenges, including the war in the region after the COVID pandemic. However, our country’s economy has shown significant strength and resilience, as well as vitality. The correct economic policy has ensured that Georgia is a leader in the region, as well as among European countries, in terms of economic growth. This is our main value, the formula for success that Georgia has created, and which all our friends see, including Mr. Mohamed Alabbar, with whom we have years of partnership and friendship. It was this trust that led to us receiving an unprecedented investment of 6,5 billion USD in Georgia” – Mariam Kvrivishvili added.
