As part of the visit to Tajikistan, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, signed three memorandums aimed at deepening economic cooperation between the two countries.
The documents were signed during the official visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, to the Republic of Tajikistan.
Specifically, the agreements were signed regarding cooperation in the field of tourism, air traffic services between the two countries and the establishment of a joint intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation.
Mariam Kvrivishvili, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development stated that the high-level bilateral meetings were held during the visit.
“An agreement was signed during the visit, on the basis of which a joint intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation will be established. At the same time, an agreement on cooperation in the aviation sector was signed. Achieving these agreements is certainly important because we see that economic activities, particularly trade, between our two nations are growing every year,” – Mariam Kvrivishvili noted.
As the Minister of Economy stated, the signed documents will play a significant role in deepening the partnership between the two countries, including trade and economic relations. The agreements will also facilitate closer ties between business circles and the launch of direct air flights.
“During the meetings, special emphasis was placed on maximizing the utilization of the existing potential for economic cooperation between the two countries. Of course, particular attention must be paid to trade, exports from Georgia, cooperation in the tourism sector as well as the importance of establishing direct flights between Georgia and Tajikistan,” – Mariam Kvrivishvili said.
During the visit, the Minister of Economy, Mariam Kvrivishvili, took part in extended-format meetings held with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Kohir Rasulzoda, and President Emomali Rahmon.
