Mariam Kvrivishvili Met with Singapore’s Acting Minister for Transport and Senior Minister of State for Finance

As part of the Prime Minister of Georgia’s visit to Singapore, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, met with Jeffrey Siow, Acting Minister for Transport and Senior Minister of State for Finance of Singapore.

During the meeting, the parties discussed areas of economic cooperation between the two countries, with a particular focus on cooperation in transport, logistics, civil aviation, maritime transport, information technology and tourism.

Mariam Kvrivishvili spoke in detail about Georgia’s development as a regional transport and logistics hub and highlighted state investments in key infrastructure, such as ports, railways, highways, airports, and others. The importance of deepening cooperation within the context of the Middle Corridor was also emphasized.

When discussing planned infrastructure projects, the Minister paid special attention to the strategic importance of constructing the new Tbilisi International Airport and the Anaklia Deep Sea Port.

The parties focused heavily on strengthening partnerships in the maritime and logistics sector. It was noted that, within the framework of developing the Middle Corridor, Georgia is actively working on the digital transformation of the maritime sector.

The significance of cooperation in the civil aviation sector was also highlighted during the meeting.
