Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili Attends Event Marking State Security Service’s 11th Anniversary

Mariam Kvrivishvili, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, attended an event dedicated to the 11th anniversary of the establishment of the State Security Service.

During the event, speakers highlighted the special significance of the service's establishment and noted that the agency makes an immense contribution to maintaining peace and security in Georgia.

A minute of silence was observed to honor the memory of the State Security Service officers who heroically died in the line of duty.

As part of the event, Geka Geladze, Head of the State Security Service, awarded employees with departmental medals and badges. The National Security Award was presented this year for the first time.

President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of Parliament Shalva Papuashvili, as well as representatives of the executive and legislative branches attended the event.
