Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, hosted the Secretary-General of the UN Tourism Organization, Shaikha Nasser Al Nowais, who is on an official visit to Georgia, at the Kutaisi Technology Hub.

The Minister showed the guest around the region’s unique educational, cognitive, and technological center, which brings together museum, educational, research and business components under one roof.

During the visit, the parties agreed that in 2027, Georgia will host the Tourism and Innovation Forum under the auspices of the UN Tourism Organization, organized by the entity for the first time. The thematic conferences of the forum will be hosted by the Kutaisi Technology Hub.

Avtandil Kasradze, Chairman of the Georgia Innovation and Technology Agency, presented the educational programs available at Kutaisi TechHub, as well as the activities of the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies. As noted during the conversation, in nearly two months since its opening, Kutaisi TechHub has welcomed more than 20000 visitors, including foreign tourists visiting Kutaisi. It was emphasized that interest in TechHub is growing, and it has established itself as one of the city’s significant tourist attractions.

Mariam Kvrivishvili and Shaikha Nasser Al Nowais also met with representatives of Georgian startups that have entered international markets, discussing conditions for the development of the startup ecosystem.

Irakli Nadareishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, and Maia Omiadze, Head of the National Tourism Administration, were also present at the Kutaisi Technology Hub.
