Mariam Kvrivishvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, met with Orkhan Zeynalov, Deputy Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, particular focus was placed on deepening cooperation in the energy sector across both bilateral and regional formats.
The discussion touched upon the Green Energy Corridor project, which aims to develop a 4000 MW capacity power transmission system connecting Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Hungary, facilitating the export of renewable energy from the South Caucasus to Europe.
The parties also discussed the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Türkiye-Bulgaria Electricity Corridor initiative, work on which began in 2025 and will be developed as a fully land-based green corridor.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue active cooperation towards the successful implementation of joint projects, which will contribute to regional economic growth, attract investment, and ensure a more sustainable energy future.
Inga Pkhaladze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, David Vardiashvili, Director General of Georgian State Electrosystem and Faig Guliyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia also attended the meeting.
